And what we are finding is that these all have common denominators. One of those common denominators is unstable molecules, and here is where we are talking about many names for kind of the same thing. One is free radicals, another is oxidation hits, and what they are showing is every one of our billions of cells has about 10,000 oxidative hits a day. That means they are being bombarded ten thousand times, every cell. So one thing they are finding with cancer is that some people have a cancer suppresser gene, they think this cancer suppresser gene is why some families get cancer more frequently - because they don't have this cancer suppressor gene. So now think of this cancer suppressor gene being bombarded with these oxidative hits. These oxidative hits can get into the genetic material and actually cause that to mutate or change, so all of those deadly diseases we have mentioned and at least 60 diseases so far have been scientifically linked to free radicals (unstable molecules). So this is something we can very easily take care of with nutrition. The second common denominator is the high homocysteine level, and that what they are finding is the underlying cause of cardiovascular disease and we will talk about more. The third is mineral deficiency. Remember I said that 93 -97% of us are nutrient deficient; particularly minerals, and particularly women and children. The fourth is the bad toxins that we are getting bombarded with from the environment and even our own bodies. The fifth is parasitic infections. By parasitic infections we mean worms, fungus, bad bacteria, anything in our body, a bad microorganism in our body. And the sixth is damage inadvertently caused by our medicine, a medication, surgical procedure, a side effect of an outpatient surgery, basically a medical mistake. If we look at drug side effects individually, every year there are showing 100,000 to 140,000 Americans die of adverse drug reactions, actually the group of drugs used to treat arthritis is now the 15th cause of death in the US. And every year another million people are so severely affected or have such bad reactions to drugs that they require hospitalization. And we are certainly not saying don't take drugs but we should look at adding nutritional supplements. And often we are seeing that people over time are able to decrease their medication and sometimes even get off of it. But it is not anything we would have you do initially, initially you add supplementation to your medication and then work with your doctor to see if your doctor wants to lower some of the more toxic medications.
